Nathan J. Szymanski

As an Assistant Professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at UCLA, I lead the Materials Design through Dynamics (MD2) group. We build computational and experimental tools for engineering the properties of inorganic materials through synthesis design and control of atomic-scale transformations. Our work combines density functional theory, machine learning, and Monte Carlo simulations with feedback from in-situ characterization and robotic synthesis.
